Vision for EQuality is celebrating our 10th Anniversary this year and our theme is "A Whole New World", a world filled with endless possibilities for all people. Our journey started with a dream and desire to assist people with disabilities and their families to have the life they choose. We have grown from an organization of six people in1996 to one with 51 staff and 31 volunteers today.

We are a unique organization born out of a collective desire for system change. Our work is a labor of love. The passion and dedication of each staff member and volunteer at Vision for Equality, along with the stories of the people we support and their families, inspires us to forge ahead with hope and determination. We believe that everyone should have the opportunity and support they need to pursue a life full of promise, a life of freedom so they can become the person they were meant to be.

Recently at our formal 10th year celebration on October 5, 2006, we joined with over 400 of our friends and supporters to commemorate our accomplishments and our vision for a future filled with promise and high expectations for everyone. We received endearing congratulatory words and well wishes which were overwhelming and very heartfelt. Just the thought that so many people called and wrote notes and letters to tell us that we made a difference in their lives and the lives of others, is validation of what Vision for Equality is all about.

We meet many obstacles as we do our work each day, but we, our Board of Directors, and all of our staff and volunteers never falter and never give up. We are blessed with unending energy and strength that carries us through.

Yes, our Vision drives us on to seek a “Whole New World,” a wondrous place where each person can pursue endless possibilities and new horizons, a place where everyone belongs, where everyone can reach for the stars and follow their dreams.

It is because of our supporters and those we work with each day that we will continue to dream and move forward until the time comes when each person and their family has a self determined life, a life they design and control……………………
