Elwyn School Employee Hits 7-Year-Old Student In Face

A 55-year-old school employee struck a 7-year-old boy in the face at a Delaware County special needs school, Pennsylvania State Police announced on Tuesday, June 17.

Frederick Jones of Chester is accused of punching the child at Elwyn Davidson School, located at 111 Elwyn Road in Middletown Township, Delaware County, according to the release.

Troopers from PSP-Media responded to the school around 2:15 p.m. on Wednesday, May 8 for a report of a physical assault on a student. Investigators determined that Jones struck the child in the face with a closed fist.

An arrest warrant was issued, and Jones was taken into custody the following day, Thursday, May 9. He was transported to PSP-Media for processing.

His preliminary arraignment was held before the on-call district judge, and bail was set at $100,000 unsecured, police said
