Voices Rising for Justice

TiPS is a Pennsylvania HealthChoices program designed to increase the availability of child psychiatry consultation teams, regionally and by phone, to primary care providers (PCPs) and other prescribers of psychotropic medications. The program is available for children insured by Pennsylvania’s Medicaid Program. TiPS provides real-time, peer-to-peer resources to the PCPs who need immediate consultative advice for children (up to age 21) with behavioral health concerns. TiPS psychiatrists don’t prescribe medications. Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia provides consultation to providers in the Southeast Zone. Einstein Crisis Response Center (CRC) treats mental and behavioral health crisis emergencies with physiatry coverage 24-hours a day, seven days a week. Emergency mental health services are available to all people, regardless of health insurance or ability to pay. No appointment is needed. f) Behavioral Health Special Initiative (BHSI) Program provides assessments, referrals, and funding support for persons who are uninsured or underinsured with substance abuse problems and can access licensed treatment programs. The program manages several state and local funding allocations, the largest of which is the Behavioral Health Special Initiative. Targeted Case Management is a primary, direct service provided to adults or children with serious mental illness or emotional disorders who live in the community. TCM is designed to ensure that individuals and their families gain access to needed medical, social, educational services as well as other agencies whose functions are to provide the support, training and assistance required for a stable, safe and healthy community life. 215-599-2150
